SUPPORT VISION 2020
Who We Are
The “Vision 2020: Youth Empowerment and Restoration Initiative” is a youth and national development initiative of Lonadek Oil & Gas Consultants which was founded in May 2006. The initiative involves collaboration with stakeholders in the Oil and Gas sector and other educational human resource focused initiatives to ensure the empowerment of Nigerian Youths. The initiative is made up of a vibrant team and a board of trustees of intellectuals, credible and highly respected personalities.
What We are Doing
Vision 2020 currently organises essay competitions, career workshops, summer retreats, facility visits/excursions, mentoring, coaching with future plans to set up scholarship programmes. Since its inception, the initiative has consistently held its programmes in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja while plans to extend hosting of the events to other states of the federation are underway.Summer Retreat
Every year, Vision 2020 Youth Empowerment and Restoration Initiative gathers brilliant students from various secondary schools at a summer camp location for a whole week. During the camping, career counselors and industry professionals are invited to come and educate the students and give them firsthand career counseling, guidance and motivational talks.
During camping, students are also taken out on an excursion to an interesting location such as oil and gas facilities at NNPC, Mosimi.

Career Workshop
Vision 2020 career workshop is a one-day event which is held twice in a year at two selected states of the country. Various schools are invited from the nooks and crannies of the hosting state while professionals from all walks of life are also invited to address the students on various issues. Students are given opportunities to interact and be mentored by high achieving professionals like Prof. Pat Utomi of Lagos Business School, Dr. Ibilola Amao of Lonadek Oil and Gas Consultants, Engr. Ernest Nwapa of NNPC, Ms. Anita Omoile of Deep Blue Energy Services and a host of others.
Students also have opportunities to watch documentaries on oil and gas activities and various key job positions, listen to presentations by professionals on the history of the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry, and the realities of working in the industry. Students learn about the variety of career paths available in the industry and the pre-requisite qualifications for these jobs. Guidance counselors learn about how best to support their students as they prepare for Oil and Gas careers while science teachers learn about the academic and practical requirements for these jobs, and are better able to tune their teaching to meet these needs.

Where We are Going
Our primary goals and objectives are as follows:

- To employ career counselling and awareness programmes for science and technology courses, so that our youths can channel their energies into rewarding careers as vocationals, entrepreneurs and professionals
- To Increase Nigerian Content in the zero-tolerant multi-billion dollar Oil and Gas industries where 15% of the income is being earned by Nigerians because of lack of awareness, requisite skills and competencies
