Vision 2020 Adoption Programme

The Adoption Programme of Vision 2020 Youth Empowerment and Restoration Initiative is a programme designed to reach out to the less privileged children in our society, teachers, schools and laboratories that need our help in order to achieve their goals.

Adopt a Child

We believe that the foundation of any progressive society is qualitative education. When youths are empowered with the right quality of education, the society will be better for it. There will be less security concerns because their energy will be properly channeled towards creative thinking and enterprising engagements that quality education brings.

Adopt a Teacher

If quality education is the foundation of any progressive society, then teachers are the architects and builders of such society. No teacher can give what he or she does not possess. We believe that when teachers are happy, motivated and encouraged, it becomes easier for them to give their best to their students. When teachers are neglected and demoralized with peanut remunerations, such as what obtains in our country, the students are in turn neglected and maltreated. That is why investing in teachers is a strategic investment for us and we hope you will join us to achieve this together. In spite of government’s negligence, we need to send a message of hope across to teachers to let them know that the society recognizes and appreciates them. We can only imagine what enormous impact this will have on our children and society at large.

Adopt a School

In exception of some very few privileged schools, school infrastructure generally in Nigeria is an eyesore and this raises a lot of concerns. We have heard of children being killed when the roof of their classroom caved in on them; children kidnapped on their way back from school, or knocked down while crossing the highway because of lack of school buses, outbreak of cholera in schools due to contaminated water students are exposed to and so and so forth. The agony this causes the parents of such children is better left to imagination. We know we can make a difference in these areas. We can save lives by reaching out to schools and provide them basic amenities like water, clean toilets, school buses, renovate old classrooms or even build new ones.

Adopt a Laboratory

Laboratories and libraries are the incubation centers where the movers and the shakers of the science and engineering world are made. Great inventors like Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Isaac Newton, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, and Larry Page are all “products” of one laboratory or another. We believe that a classroom is where the information is passed across while a laboratory is where the information is brought to life. It is therefore not a surprise why western countries like United States and new world powers like China invest so heavily on financing various laboratories, innovation centers and libraries all over their countries.  Financing and equipping science and technology laboratories will pave way for an innovative educational system and a prosperous nation. Our laboratories are miles away from being acceptable. If the government will do nothing but watch as the last Nigerian innovator leaves the shore of his country for the white man’s land, we can rise up and save our own nation from intellectual bankruptcy and extinction.
